Later Life Learning in the Barrie Area

Third Age Barrie is a volunteer-based group dedicated to providing educational and entertaining learning opportunities for mature adults.  Lectures cover a wide range of topics with knowledgeable, well-known speakers. Visit the ‘Past’ tab to see the diversity in topics, from current, global affairs to science, and even art and music.

We also provide a friendly social community for retired adults to come together to learn at Grace United Church, as well as livestreaming for those who prefer the comfort of home. Whenever possible, we make recordings available for a limited time after the event.

TAB is a not-for-profit organization, part of the provincial TAN Network, and completely volunteer led.

We invite you to join us for the joy of learning and meeting new friends!

The lecture series organized by TAB are most informative and provide a social connection for many seniors in the Barrie area.

The China series was an excellent array of knowledgeable speakers, extremely interesting and relevant subject matter. Thank you!
Third Age Barrie lectures at Grace United Church have been a rich experience for those of us who are no longer out in the work force but who wish to be informed and stimulated by ideas. These lectures have also been a wonderful opportunity to connect with others and share ideas and life stories.
I love the warmth and thoughtfulness of the (Winter Series) moderator, Pat Mansfield. You have a beautiful variety of guests. I have learned so much. Please continue to make TAB available on Zoom when you go back to live sessions. Thank you so much!”
I have participated in just about every lecture series since TAB started I think and eagerly look forward to every new series. Every series has afforded me the opportunity to expand my horizons & knowledge. It is marvelous that TAB is endeavouring to make these lectures accessible to even more seniors in our community.
