Sharon Lee

Violinist

Aptly described as a “compact fireball” (La Scena Musical), violinist Sharon Lee made her concerto debut at the age of ten with the Lawrence Symphony Orchestra.

Sharon has had the good fortune of collaborating with musical heroes Peter Frankl, Shauna Rolston, Erika Raum, and the Gryphon Trio; and touring for Jeunesses Musicale Canada. A young enthusiast of chamber music, Sharon has received the CBC’s Galaxie Rising Star Award and the Ontario Arts Council’s Orford String Quartet Scholarship.

Sharon’s long list of festival participations include fellowships to Aspen Music Festival, Deer Valley Music Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Meisterkurse, New York String Orchestra Seminar at Carnegie Hall; as well as five glorious summers at the Banff Arts Festival and Orford Arts Festival, and two sessions at the Juilliard String Quartet Seminar.

While a Master of Music candidate at Indiana University, where she was recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship, Sharon was appointed Principal Second Violin of the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra. Sharon currently serves as Concertmaster of Casa Loma’s Symphony series, as well as violinist of déVah quartet, Toy Piano Composers Ensemble, and Trio Shastra.

Sharon, along with her déVah colleagues, is a YAMAHA Canada Artist and D’Addario Canada Artist.
