Livestreamed into Your Home
Last winter, we introduced a new series and format to bring you a spark of inspiration. The four local young people certainly did that! Feedback from you was very positive.
This year is once again a time when many of us will be home and looking for comfort and a warm spark of inspiration by mid-winter. We have once again assembled a wonderful group of people from the Barrie area who have made significant contributions in a variety of areas including entrepreneurship, community spirit, the environment, human rights and advocacy.
Join TAB co-founder Pat Mansfield in conversation with each of these inspiring leaders on Zoom.
February 1, 2022: Tracey Baker
I’m a Barrie girl who diverted my path for a quarter century to build a career in Toronto. But I came home, unknowingly, for a new chapter. There was a marriage and a divorce. A few homes, a long Alzheimer’s journey with Mom, the best roommate a father’s daughter could ask for, and a busy little boutique in downtown Barrie. Did I mention my lifetime cancer journey? Let’s get started!
February 8, 2022: Shelly Skinner
Shelly Skinner is a social entrepreneur, activist and President and Founder of UPlift Black. She speaks truth to power candidly in hopes to empower and inspire others to join her in anti-oppressive practices. Her goal is to achieve social justice and true equity for all.
February 15, 2022: Craig Busch
Craig is an enthusiastic entrepreneur who is behind local/regional development projects including the founding of the Sandbox Centre and more recently, helping create the Barrie Market District. Craig is Founder, President, and Chief Design Officer of Busch Systems International, the industry leader in recycling and waste containers. He is also the President of NetGain SEO and Bins4Shredding and a Board Member of Vettä Spa, opening shortly in Horseshoe Valley.
February 22: Jeff Monague
Jeff Monague is a member of the Beausoleil First Nation on Christian Island and currently resides near Coldwater Ontario. Presently, he is the Manager at Springwater Provincial Park. He has been an instructor of the Ojibwe Language and has taught at every level, from junior kindergarten to post-secondary at Georgian College. Jeff is a former Chief and Councillor of his community on Christian Island, and has been the Treaty Research Director for the Anishinaabek Nation. He is also a Canadian Military Veteran.
