Third Age Barrie – Board Member Invitation

Do you enjoy helping an organization think clearly, plan well, and stay connected to its community? Third Age Barrie is inviting expressions of interest from individuals who would consider joining our Board of Directors or supporting board-level committees.

What we’re looking for

We value practical experience and good judgment. In particular, we welcome people who bring:

  • Previous board or committee experience
  • A collaborative, respectful approach to decision-making
  • An interest in supporting learning and engagement in later life
  • Experience with social media, communications, or technology is especially helpful as we continue to strengthen our online presence.

What board involvement looks like

  • Reasonable, well-defined time commitment of, at most, a couple of afternoon meetings a month
  • Friendly, collegial board culture
  • Meetings that are focused, practical, and respectful of everyone’s time
  • A chance to help shape the future of Third Age Barrie

Why serve on the Third Age Barrie Board?

  • Use your experience in a meaningful, community-focused way
  • Support lifelong learning and social connection
  • Be part of an organization with a strong mission and engaged members
  • Help ensure Third Age Barrie remains sustainable and relevant

If this sounds like something you’d like to explore, we’d love to talk — no pressure, just a conversation. You are invited to speak to one of our board members during any of the sessions at Grace United Church. They are usually greeting people at the door and wear a lanyard with their name on it.
